"My new series of paintings is based on female figures not defined by the beauty standards of today’s society. Appreciating people requires a deep understanding of genres of beauty, character and value far beyond individual appearance. Looking at myself and the women around me, I have tried to present the figures in my paintings and illustrations as close to the women I encounter in everyday life."
Atieh Sohrabi
Atieh is a New York City artist, born in Tehran. She has shown at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, & through several installations at the Asia Society in New York. Her work has been featured on NPR, exhibited in Germany, Denmark, Iran, & at the Hiratsuka, Kawara, & Chiba City Museums of Japan.
